2008 Blogs....

I wrote these two years ago... It's funny how little has changed...

About Me:

I may be your typical tomboy a lot of the time but I get hurt, easily, because I've been hurt too many times before.

I may come across as distant or like I don't care but the truth is I'm normallly just too scared to be more than just one of the guys... I've seen too many boys break too many girls (far greater than me) hearts, and I couldn't take it.

I don't mean to be rude either. But in the generation I live in sarcasm is the ONLY defense to people who just suck.

I get mad because it's easier to be mad than sad.

I fight because it's the easiest way to let out the things I let slide that most people never would...

I get onto people for the little things they do wrong, not because I've never done anything wrong but because I have made mistakes others wouldn't dream of making and I realize that it's those little tiny mistakes that bring you down.

I talk about the past because I fear I'll never have a best friend like I did when I was 10.

I talk about the future because I fear I will never actually get there.

I don't go to "real" church much because I have never been anywhere that cared whether I was there or not. In fact most places I have been I feel would have preferred I was not.

I love animals because they know how to care for people when humans never could.

I want to be a foster mom one day because I would do anything to have helped those boys... to have given them a way out...

I want to be a photographer because most of the time I can't say things with words but photographs can catch the words, my emotions, and my soul and express them in a way I never could.

I write things like this because if I don't just say them noone would ever care enough to find them out...

Advice from Experience:

Just because you do something once... doesn't mean you have to keep doing it.

Take a fun class EVERY semester. Add scuba diving or karate or yoga. Make sure there is SOME fun in your week. (And drag a friend along if possible.)

Staying out till 2 am all the time may be fun for a week but after a semester you'll realize you could have gotten a lot more accomplished without sleeping through your 8 am class everyday.

Just because your out with friends who are drinkin STILL doesn't mean you have to drink.

Smile... it may seem important today but when you 44 and your 2 year old wants juice.. will it really matter?

Don't cut out your parents... they'll be your lifeline when things fall apart.

Things WILL fall apart but don't worry because it doesn't last long.

Keep a job you LIKE! Your days wont be so bad when you don't hate your work.

Study... for real. If you study just a little bit, you wont stress so much... then when you do get to go out... you wont look like crap. :)

Don't worry so much about a boyfriend. You're 19 and God will put someone in your path when his timing is right.

Don't forget your best friend... spend time with them... DONT let those friendships fall away...

STAY IN CHURCH. Even if it's your college group on campus... Don't let God fall to the background.. you'll need him!
