We are about to head home from a trip up to Indiana to see relatives. I am not gonna lie I was hesitant about coming up, not because I didn't want to see my Uncle but because my best friend had a pretty big event last night that I really wanted to go to. Despite being disappointed about missing [epic.] last night I had a really wonderful trip. We came up on Friday afternoon to Evansville just in time for dinner. It's kind of a funny situation because my Uncle Perry got married to a lady named Teresa and we haven't met her so we just came up and had a new Aunt! The cool thing about it was that she is just really awesome. I like her a lot! So we had dinner friday night and everyone pretty much just went to bed. I stayed up that night and skyped with [epic]. We were up till like 3 am conference calling. :) Then I was up at 7am Saturday morning and went for a run. It was so nice but ridiculously cold. When I got home everyone started getting up. Aunt Teresa made us breakfast and then we got ready. Then it was time for wedding. Aunt Teresa has a daughter just a year older than me who came to town named Amanda... So I officially have a cousin my age. lol I was pretty excited because no one told me that the rest of the family was coming in! So I got to see my Uncle Steve, Aunt Stacey, little cousin Hannah, and Grandma. It was wonderful. We've never been part of a "close" family. I see family every couple years or so. Hannah is 7 now and I've met her all of three times? haha. So it was really good to see the whole family. First time I've gotten a picture of us all in a LONG time. So the wedding was simple but really pretty and after the wedding we all caravaned out to Owensburg, Kentucky. It was a fun dinner. I really bonded with Hannah. She is SO sweet... She wanted to come home to Tennessee with me. I attempted to trade her for Gracie but noone else would go for it. :) After dinner me, mom, and Aunt Teresa went to check out the department store right by Uncle Perry's house. It is called Gordman's and it was really awesome! I wish I had money cause they have some AMAZING deals. I got a pair of jeans for $20 that fit amazingly and they are 14's in Juniors. Yeahhh a good find. :) We came back and visited for awhile. I stayed up and talked to Aunt Teresa for quite awhile. It was really cool. Then I was up working on this silly blog most of the night. I got up at 8 and slowly everyone else woke up. We had breakfast again and I think we are starting to pack up to leave now... This really has been a great weekend. I don't consider myself a family person very much but growing up we lived like 10 hours away from ANY family. So it was really nice to bond with family like I never have before. Definitely glad I came up. I'm planning on making a trip up myself this summer and visiting each part of the family since it's 3 hours up to Uncle Perry and Aunt Teresa in Evansville, then 3 hours over to Uncle Steve and Aunt Stacey in Charleston, IL and then finally 2 hours up to Grandma and Grandpa in Hoopeston, IL. I could just spend a day or two at each place on the way up and back. :) :)
And on that note... I'm ready to head home now... I miss my friends far too much. <3
Owensburg KY or Owensboro? I've got family all up everywhere in Evansville and across the river in KY. It's always crazy to hear that somebody actually knows people up there too. lol.
