- Never put all your eggs in one basket.
Whether that is with a boy or a major. Don't let everything ride on one thing working out. Don't pass up opportunities just because they aren't in your "major". Don't let friendships or new relationships fall to the side because you are focusing all your energy on one boy. Things are not likely to go exactly as planned so don't ride everything on anything.
- Walk, Bike, or Run to class.
It will keep you in shape. The freshman 15 is no joke so keep active. You will regret it later if not. Be careful because your birth control will make you gain weight as well.
- Buy a planner.
Keep up with birthdays, school work, and events. Things will get hectic fast. Keep it all in one place and you're less likely to forget something important.
- Choose your friends wisely.
Make sure they respect you. They will affect you in a major way- your decisions and behaviors. Be smart about who you let influence you in that way. Don't choose friends who are only "party friends" or will talk about you. Don't choose friends based on social status... It will only hurt you in the end.
- Don't be afraid to pierce something or cut your hair.
It's a one of those few times when you can experiment with your appearance and not be judged or have consequences. Don't be afraid to go get a piercing or cut your hair off or dye it some crazy color. Have fun. :)
Also, embrace Ramen and the bazillions of ways there are to cook it!
